Immediate gratification through injection is all the rage. Fill those lips instantly and create a customized look, too. Filler agents can be used to accomplish several goals. First it helps provide volume to the lips. A heavy-handed approach leaving you looking like a goldfish is not necessary. Restoration to a natural, youthful look is.

As we age, gravity takes its toll and the corners of the mouth begin to sag and turn downward. This often leads to a persistent dour expression. And for a full lip augmentation, the added measure of a painlessly performed dental block can make all the difference to the patient, regardless of filler being used.

Anytime the skin becomes distended from the introduction of a filler, there may be some skin discomfort or tenderness and perhaps minor bruising. Avoid strenuous activity for 24 hours post-injection.

The use of aspirin and NSAIDS (like Advil or Motrin) should be avoided as it may increase possible bleeding. Ask your physician if Tylenol would be appropriate.

Patients who've undergone lip augmentation may find their lips look extremely puffy for up to 48 hours post injection. Don't plan on having a lip augmentation and showing up to a fancy function that night. Always undergo this procedure in advance!

The tube of #02, Pink Adobe, is shown above right. It's a rose-toned pink with a hint of brown to my eye. Casablanca, #03 is shown at left. I would describe it as a vibrant blue-toned rose. It's the darkest of the three shades I purchased. Indian Rose, #04, is shown below right. I'd describe it as a medium-toned rose pink that straddles the cool/warm spectrum.
I swatched all three shades on my arm in this order, top to bottom (yes, out of order): #02 Pink Adobe, #04 Indian Rose, and #03 Casablanca. All photos were taken in full sun, which added a bit of sparkle to the swatch photos. I would call the finish of these lip colors gleaming, with a bit of shine in strong light, but not sparkly.

Facial Filler with Botox for Lip Lines by Peter T. Pacik, MD, FACS Botox is now being used in combination with facial fillers, such as Restylane, Radiesse and fat grafting, to help eliminate wrinkles and furrows. The following patient is a good example of the benefit of combining Botox with a facial filler. Lip lines developed as a result of overactive muscles around the mouth (photograph top right). The lips have thinned with age. Botox was used to reduce the hyperactivity. Only 2 injections, one on each side of the lip, was used to help quiet the muscles but not enough to develop lip droop. Radiesse was injected for volume replacement of both the upper lip and the early marionette lines (depressions in the corner of the mouth). By having less muscular activity (photograph bottom right), the facial filler can be expected to last longer. The photographs below are at one month. Her photos at one month show better fullness of the lips, marked improvement of the corners of the mouth and near eradication of the lip lines. In photograph below, the lip is paler on her right side as well as a small central zone where some of the radiesse can be seen through the lip. This will disappear with time.

American socialite and reality television star Kim Kardashian has spoken out about cosmetic surgery in the latest issue of Australia’s Cosmopolitan magazine.

The newly-engaged star features on the cover of the glossy fashion magazine wearing a sequined mini dress that emphasizes her toned curves. In the accompanying interview she attributes her curvaceous bottom to her father’s side of the family.

She said: “I’m half Armenian, so the butt really comes from my dad’s side of the family. It’s a little bit bigger so you do have to work out more. I do squats and lunges. I try to do whatever I can to work out. It’s all real.”

Despite dismissing butt implant rumours as ‘ridiculous’, the 30-year-old is not averse to cosmetic surgery, having admitted to having Botox injections and laser hair removal in recent years. Her mother and sister Kourtney have both admitted to having breast implants.

American socialite, television personality and reality show star Kim Kardashian was yesterday spotted visiting a laser hair removal clinic in Los Angeles.

Kardashian, who is 30 years old, looked cool and calm as she chatted on her mobile phone on her way to the clinic. She wore high-waisted black denim Capri pants and a sheer khaki blouse, and teamed the outfit with scraped back hair, black cage high heels and oversized aviator sunglasses.

This is not the first time that Kardashian has been linked with cosmetic surgery and non-surgical procedures. She was recently photographed looking suspiciously puffy and experts speculated that she had undergone dermal lip fillers.

In the past she has also been rumoured to have followed in the footsteps of her mother, Kris Jenner, by having breast implants, but Kardashian denies that she has had any work done.

Sisters Kim and Kourtney Kardashian have appeared on American chat show Piers Morgan Tonight, and talked frankly about cosmetic surgery.

Kim, the younger of the two sisters at 30 years old, insists that despite recent rumours, her breasts are “completely 100 per cent real”.

In an interview with the inflammatory host of the show, ex-Daily Mirror editor Piers Morgan, Kim said: “There are a lot of plastic surgery rumours that swirl and I’m the first one to be super honest.

“And so everyone was talking about that, saying that they must be, you know, fake.”

The Kardashians were each placed next to a cardboard cut-out of themselves in the studio, and Kim is seen pointing to different areas of her body as she talks about them. The socialite and reality television star has admitted to having Botox, but denies rumours that she has undergone surgical procedures.

However, Kourtney, 31, admitted to having had breast enlargement surgery, pointing to her cardboard cut-out and saying, “these babies are not real”.

Jenni Farley, star of reality television show Jersey Shore, has hit out at celebrities who try to hide their cosmetic surgery procedures.

The 21-year-old graphic designer tweeted: “Funny how stars don’t man up to their plastic surgery…I did…Blaming it on colds etc..Is just hysterical..Words of Deena “Get Real”.”

Farley, known as Jwoww on the hit US show, did not mention any celebrities in particular in her outburst on Twitter, but it followed Kim Kardashian’s recent denials of rumours that she has had lip enhancements.

When asked about her plumper-looking lips by American chat show Extra, Kardashian said: “I have the flu. I’m puffy and swollen, and I have no makeup on.”

Jwoww famously treated herself to breast enlargement surgery as a 21st birthday present. She has her own website on which she talks about her cosmetic surgery and surgeon Dr. Greenberg, in glowing terms, writing: “Dr. Greenberg was recommended to me by a friend and performed my breast augmentation.
